Selected Ram Lalla idol of dark stone, in standing posture: Temple trust's Champat RaiThe idol of Ram Lalla to be installed in the Ram temple's sanctum sanctorum will be "shyamal (dark)" in complexion and in standing posture, crafted by Karnataka sculptors Arun Yogiraj or Ganesh Bhatt. Its height will be 51 inches. The chosen idol will be made of dark Karnataka granite stones. The stone used in the idol will not be affected by water or milk. The age of the temple stones is 1,000 years, but sunlight, wind, and water will not affect it as a layer of granite has been installed below. No iron has been used in the temple's construction.
